This page contains miscellaneous info about the site. Generally, anything
that I have to say that doesn't belong to the other sections will go here.
You won't find any information about the series, but just read on if you are
interested (or have nothing to do).
Please do take some time to read the Important Site Policy, located
on the bottom of this page.
About the Webmaster
I hail from the sunny island of Singapore, located in Southeast
Asia. I am 21 years old and currently studying Computer Science in NUS.
This is my first attempt at an anime website, so it may not be up
to the expectations of most people.
Much as I would like to devote time to this site, time is a luxury that I do not possess, so updates will be pretty random (I was working
on this site throughout my school vacation.) Hence, do not e-mail me to ask
when I will be updating.
Nevertheless, I was quite pleased with the way that this site
turned out. I hope everyone will enjoy their visit here!
About the Site
How did this site come about?
This site was created due to my obsession with Duuz. I was
immediately attracted by Duuz's character design the first time I saw him in
a magazine.
You could say that Duuz was the reason that inspired me to pick up
both Outlaw Star and Angel Links. Don't get me wrong, though. I know how to
appreciate anime and I enjoyed watching both series for what they are and
not just for Duuz alone.
This site initially started out as a pure character shrine for
Duuz, but I soon realized that the content would be very limited.
Eventually, I decided to included some info about the series in general,
too.
Also, there seriously aren't many Angel Links sites on the
internet right now, so I always thought of making one myself.
Care to talk about it?
It all started when I was flipping through an anime magazine one
day. I came across an advertisement for the Angel Links DVD release. I saw
this cute well-endowed girl in a pink dress (at that time, I didn't know it
was Meifong) striking a pose with her sword, but what really caught my eye
was that green dragon guy behind her.
I wanted to find out more, and upon noticing the "From the Outlaw
Star Universe" statement at the top of the advertisement, I began my
search.
I purchased Outlaw Star, not really knowing what to expect, but being
a sci-fi action fan, I was immediately drawn in by its lovable characters
and light-hearted premise. I was overjoyed when I saw that same green dragon
guy in one episode. Even though it was just one episode,
it was enough to make Duuz one of my most favorite anime characters.
I made up my mind to hunt down the Angel Links series. It
was only till after half a year of waiting that I finally managed to get the
Japanese version of the anime, and thus, began my work on this site.
Why Duuz?
I like Duuz because I am a huge fan of dragons and kemono
(or jyujin).
(If I am not wrong, kemono is the Japanese term for 'beast' and
generally any anthropomorphic characters.)
I feel that he looks cool and it is seldom that you get to see a
walking-talking dragon as one of the main characters in an anime.
Anyway, kemono obsessions aside, I like Duuz as he is level-headed,
mature & contemplative. He also fights well and is deadly with his sword.
His strange, yet interesting, antics make him like-able as well.
How did you come up with the
name for your site?
I got the name of
the site from the title of the 3rd Episode of Angel Links; the one
focusing on Duuz. I was planning to use the original Japanese title
as it had a nice ring to it, but it was be hard for people to remember my
site like that.
The Japanese title was:
It is read as "Hokori Takaki
Dragon".
Where can I find the Angel
Links anime in Singapore?
As of now, I could
only find the Taiwanese release of Angel Links (Japanese speech with
Chinese subtitles). It comes as a 7-VCD set and can be bought from the anime
store at Hougang Green whose name escapes me right now.
I have e-mailed ODEX before and they did say that they plan to
release the official version of Angel Links in the near future.
